Women’s Day 2017: UIA President’s statement on migrant women

Statement from Mrs. Laurence Bory, President of the UIA, on the occasion of Women’s Day (March 8, 2017)

“On this Women’s Day, a special thought goes to the women in refugee camps and their children.

Every effort must be made to ensure that in the near future, both men and women enjoy equal rights with regard to the transmission of nationality to their children.

It is not tolerable that because of this discrimination, millions of women and children throughout the world have neither any legal existence nor nationality.”
