Young Lawyers' Session at UIA Congress

The young lawyers' session focused on the challenges that novices face at the present time of economic crisis, as well as on the possible opportunities and solutions available to contrast it and to let them start a successful career. 

While still having hard times in entering specific areas of the law (such as arbitration, mediation or insolvency, which seem to be de facto reserved to more experienced colleagues), flexibility, specific skills and proficiency in foreign languages may represent an important element to help them find their place in the global market.

The presentations of the participants also prompted a lively and comparative debate on the different paths to become a qualified lawyer in different countries of the world including the UK, Italy, Spain, Poland, Uruguay, Brazil, and Romania, discussing, inter alia, the role of regulator bodies, continuing legal education, the future of profession, and minimum requirements to qualify as lawyers.
